For example, someone who steals a pig from his neighbor to eat it or a truck driver who picks up the lamb that has strayed from the herd and raises it as a spoiled child, are not considered "rustlers" although the Law could prosecute them as such."Abigeato" en su significado más amplio se refiere al robo de animales, otros que pequeños animales domésticos como son los perros, los gatos, los cerdos y las gallinas. En su acepción común excluye también el robo de algunos animales sin intención de sacar de ellos un provecho económico.
