Nor is it just a cognitive tool, because, as Diego Irarrázaval says in his article, published in this magazine, "it is about a perspective and action that transforms human relationships and historical forms."El género es un concepto relativamente nuevo en nuestro medio. No se trata, como muchas veces se ha entendido, de un tema femenino, aunque históricamente su génesis haya tenido mucho que ver con la irrupción de las mujeres en la vida social y con sus reivindicaciones. Es mucho más que eso, pues afecta e involucra a todas las personas, sean varones o mujeres, jóvenes o adultas.
