It is very striking to see how entrepreneurs emerged in a relatively young city and to discover what strategies they adopted, as well as to know what the main characteristics of these entrepreneurs are. These are the questions that, in general, motivated this work.En los últimos años la ciudad de Juliaca ha crecido sorprendentemente. Casi un cuarto de millón de personas la habitan, 40,000 tricilos la recorren diariamente, ingenio y comercio se suman perfectamente. Probablemente, el crecimiento de Juliaca sea el mejor signo de la magnitud de los cambios operados en el departamento de Puno. Llama poderosamente la atención el ver cómo fueron surgiendo empresarios en una ciudad relativamente joven y descubrir qué estrategias adoptaron, así como saber cuáles son las principales características de estos empresarios.
