These studies (Mitchell, 1981; Shaedel, 1983; Fonseca, 1983) draw attention to the rational use of irrigation water, according to the ecology of these communities, through which farmers try to optimize their production. Another group of works (Arguedas, 1968; Ossio, 1976; Sherbondy, 1982, 1983) has paid attention to the "festive ceremonies of the cult of water" that are practiced in various Andean communities, in which there is agriculture with irrigation, under different conditions. names "Water Festival or Yaku Raymi", "Clean Acequias or Yarqa Aspiy", "Champerías", etc.; which constitute "one of the most obvious expressions of the impact that irrigation has had on the Andean social organization" (Gelles, 1984:1), for which they have called the attention of several Peruvian and foreign scholars. Universidad Católica San Pablo1986-06-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtículo revisado por paresapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.ucsp.edu.pe/index.php/Allpanchis/article/view/101210.36901/allpanchis.v18i27.1012Allpanchis; Vol. 18 Núm. 27 (1986): Antigüedad y Actualidad del Riego en los Andes (I); 179-202Allpanchis; Vol. 18 No. 27 (1986): Antiquity and Present of Irrigation in the Andes (I); 179-2022708-89600252-883510.36901/allpanchis.v18i27reponame:Revistas - Universidad Católica San Pabloinstname:Universidad Católica San Pabloinstacron:UCSPspahttps://revistas.ucsp.edu.pe/index.php/Allpanchis/article/view/1012/1008Derechos de autor 1986 Ricardo Valderrama Fernández, Carmen Escalante Gutiérrezhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessoai:revistas.ucsp.edu.pe:article/10122024-05-15T21:39:55Z
