In regions of strong modernizing influence we see that the payment to the land, the ch'allas, the carnivals "as they should be done", in short, all the rituals of production, decline, become folklore and tend to disappear. This loss of Andean religious values has been called the de-pachamamization of the countryside.En varias partes, el mundo religioso del comunero de apreciar la tierra, la chacra, el bofedal se está perdiendo un poco. La modernización del campo, la escolarización de la juventud, la propaganda de las sectas protestantes conllevan muchas veces una sensible pérdida de valores culturales andinos. En regiones de fuerte influencia modernizante vemos que el pago a la tierra, las ch'allas, los carnavales "como deben hacerse", en fin, todos los rituales de producción, decaen, se transforman en folklore y tienden a desaparecer.
