In an attempt to incorporate the peasants in the historical analysis, we want here to deal with the issue of peasant resistance, but not focusing on rebellions, but on daily actions of resistance, understood as confrontational actions that are not extremely violent and, in general, sporadic. and spatially isolated.En la Historiografía sobre el sur peruano, los campesinos han aparecido en la escena y jugado un rol activo generalmente cuando factores estructurales los llevaron a rebelarse contra las fuerzas que los oprimían. En la mayor parte de la literatura existente, han sido reducidos a un plano secundario, por lo cual es poco lo que sabemos acerca del rol jugado por el campesinado en el desarrollo y la conformación histórica del sur peruano.
