A partir de documentación presente en el Tribunal de la Santa Inquisición en Lima y en Cartagena de Indias (1560-1650), el presente artículo muestra los alcances y amplitud de la evangelización a los negros esclavos, cuya labor, sin embargo, no logró erradicar completamente las prácticas de hechicería, brujería y supersticiones de un buen número de procesados por la Inquisición.
