Sumario:Climacteric women present a series of inconveniences due to hormonal disorders, that, associated with demographic characteristics, impacts on lifestyles and socio-cultural aspects, inducing these climacteric women to receive hormone therapy among other gynecological indications. In order to solve this problem we have done a prospective quasi-experimental and transversal investigation, in order to know the effect of the psychoprophylactic program for the menopause, on sexual behavior, and knowledge on preventive health. We have selected 42 users of the Health Center of Jacobo Dixon Hunter, from 38 to 55 years, which were distributed in two groups: an experimental group (EG) and a control group (CG), to whom we have applied a pre-test at the start in both groups. The EG Group was given six educational theoretical and practical classes, after which a post test was applied to both EG and CG group. Then we evaluated through tests the effect of the program on sexual behavior and knowledge on health prevention of climacteric women. The results of the analysis showed significant differences (p<O.05) between the EG and the CG, which indicates the effectiveness of the educational program, applied on climacteric women.
