We used a questionnaire composed of 26 questions about omission and repetition of meals, add salt to food; fast food, junk food and fruits and vegetables consumption, company during meals, food consumption place, rate of food intake , nap after lunch, interval between dinner and bedtime and watch TV during meals. RESULTS: Of total 459 adolescents, 50,1% (n=230) were men and 49,9 % (n=229) were women between 14 and 19 years old (average age 16,1 years; SD: 0,92). 44,3 % (n = 203) of adolescents were found within the category of “change habits”, while 55,7 % (n = 256) were within the category of “conserving habits”. By gender, higher proportion of men belonging to the category of “change habits” with 47,8% compared to 40,6% of women, no statistically significant difference (p = 0,120) were found. CONCLUSIONS: 44,2 % of adolescents require changing your eating habits, being in greater proportion in males.OBJETIVOS: Evaluar los hábitos alimenticios en adolescentes del distrito Mi Perú. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Estudio descriptivo transversal desarrollado en 2013, participaron adolescentes que cursaban el 4º y 5º año de secundaria en colegios estatales del distrito Mi Perú, en la Región Callao. Se empleó un cuestionario conformado por 26 preguntas sobre la omisión y repetición de las comidas, adición de sal a las comidas, consumo de comida rápida chatarra, frutas y verduras, compañía durante las comidas, lugar de consumo de los alimentos, velocidad de ingesta de los alimentos, tiempo de siesta después de almorzar, intervalo entre la cena y la hora de acostarse y ver televisión durante las comidas. RESULTADOS: De los 459 adolescentes, 50,1% (n=230) fueron varones y 49,9% (n=229) mujeres con edades entre los 14 y 19 años (promedio=16,09; desviación estándar= 0,92). El 44,3% (n=203) de los adolescentes se encontraron dentro de la categoría de “modificar hábitos”, mientras que el 55,7% (n=256) dentro de la categoría de “conservar hábitos”. Según el sexo, se encontró mayor proporción de varones pertenecientes a la categoría de “modificar hábitos”, sin diferencias estadísticamente significativas (p=0,120).
