RESULTS: 200 vaginal hysterectomies was performed without major complications. CONCLUSIONS: In those patients requiring hysterectomy for benign cervical cancer and pathology to the stage IA1, the route of choice is vaginal.OBJETIVO: Analizar los resultados de las histerectomías vaginales efectuadas sin haber prolapso uterino. DISEÑO: Estudio descriptivo. LUGAR: Centro Hospitalario “Pereira Rossell” de Montevideo, Uruguay. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Revisión de las historias clínicas de histerectomías vaginales efectuadas a partir de 1997. Se examinó tiempo operatorio, tiempo de internación, complicaciones y se comparó con series de referencia. RESULTADOS: Se efectuó 200 histerectomías vaginales, sin mayores complicaciones.
