For this to be possible, however, a modality of thought which does not deal with objects but with events is needed. This paper argues that this modality—suitable for deciding the way of phenomenalization of the given—can be found in practical thought. Firstly, I trace back this possibility to the Cartesian esteem. Secondly, I discuss it with reference to the Aristotelian prudence. Finally, I relate both approaches to comprehension (Verstehen), a concept that Marion picks up from Heidegger and Gadamer.Según Jean-Luc Marion, el sujeto es responsable de la fenomenalización de lo dado. Este proceso, caracterizado por el autor como “hermenéutico”, implica un discernimiento sobre el modo más adecuado de mostrar el fenómeno. Sin embargo, para ello se necesita una modalidad de pensamiento que no trate con objetos, sino con acontecimientos. En este artículo, propongo que esta modalidad, apropiada para decidir el modo de fenomenalización de lo dado, puede encontrarse en el pensamiento práctico. En primer lugar, rastreo esta posibilidad en la estima cartesiana. En segundo lugar, la abordo a partir de la prudencia aristotélica.
