To this end, the Constitutions of 1979 and 1933 are examined to highlight the most relevant aspects of the changes introduced. This analysis will make possible to detail the constitutional articles that refer to education, as well as the advances achieved for universities and the challenges that appeared. The conclusion is that important advances have been made in the recognition of education, as well as in the expansion of universities.La Constitución del Perú de 1979 introduce significativas modificaciones en el reconocimiento de los derechos y obligaciones de las personas. En particular, el derecho a la educación experimenta diversos cambios en su formulación. En este sentido, el objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar los avances en el régimen jurídico de la educación. Para ello, se comparan las Constituciones de 1979 y 1933, con el fin de resaltar los aspectos más relevantes de los cambios introducidos. Este análisis permitirá detallar los artículos constitucionales referentes a la educación, así como los avances logrados para las universidades y los desafíos que se presentaron.
