However, evaluating it presents a challenge due to the difficulty in establishing observable and objective descriptions. The purpose of this study is to identify the level of development of oral communication skills achieved by students. To achieve this, a standardized evaluation system was implemented with a sample of 592 undergraduate students enrolled between the sixth and twelfth cycles at a private Peruvian university. The study concludes that students performed better in terms of content development, eye contact, and pronunciation, while difficulties were observed in fulfilling the communicative purpose, using gestures, and varying the tone of voice. The study concludes with recommendations for future experiences regarding standardized evaluation of oral communication.La comunicación oral es una competencia esencial en el ámbito académico y profesional, sin embargo, su evaluación representa un reto debido a la dificultad para establecer descripciones observables y objetivas. Este estudio tiene como finalidad identificar el desarrollo de la comunicación oral que logran los estudiantes. Para ello, se implementó un sistema de evaluación estandarizada con una muestra de 592 estudiantes de pregrado, matriculados entre el sexto y el duodécimo ciclo de una universidad peruana privada. El estudio concluye que hubo un mejor desempeño en el desarrollo del contenido, el contacto visual y la pronunciación, mientras que se observaron dificultades en el cumplimiento del propósito comunicativo, el uso de gestos y la variación del tono de voz. Se finaliza con recomendaciones para futuras experiencias de evaluación estandarizada de la comunicación oral.A comunicação oral é uma competência essencial no âmbito acadêmico e profissional. No entanto, sua avaliação representa um desafio devido à dificuldade em estabelecer descrições observáveis e objetivas. O objetivo deste estudo é identificar o nível de desenvolvimento das habilidades de comunicação oral alcançadas pelos alunos. Para alcançar esse objetivo, foi implementado um sistema de avaliação padronizada com uma amostra de 592 alunos de graduação matriculados entre o sexto e o décimo segundo ciclo de uma universidade privada peruana. O estudo conclui que os alunos tiveram melhor desempenho no desenvolvimento de conteúdo, contato visual e pronúncia, enquanto foram observadas dificuldades no cumprimento do propósito comunicativo, uso de gestos e variação do tom de voz.
