This work contains two contrasting cases: the works of Alejandro Vivanco, anthropologist and disciple of Arguedas, almost completely unpublished to date; and the books published under the direction of José Matos Mar, contemporary of Arguedas.Este articulo indaga en los paradigmas que inspiraron las investigaciones antropológicas en el Perú en los inicios de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Nos acercaremos a estos años, cruciales en la reflexion antropológica, a través de la obra producida en torno a una región de Lima (las comunidades del valle del Chancay).
