This study zone is a low-income neighborhood located in the south of the metropolitan area of Bogota. It is illustrative of the socio-demographic and mobility conditions that characterize many outskirts of Latin American cities. The analysis is based on census data and the latest urban mobility survey (EMU-2019). It also relies on interviews applied to key actors of the commune and inhabitants of different profiles.Este artículo tiene un doble objetivo. Primero, presenta un breve estado del arte de la literatura internacional relacionado con el tema de la movilidad sostenible. A la luz de la gran diversidad de enfoques que permiten abarcar la complejidad del paradigma de la movilidad sostenible, se analizan en una segunda parte los desafíos actuales, las limitaciones y las perspectivas para mantener y desarrollar las prácticas de movilidad sostenible en la comuna de Cazucá. Esta zona de estudio es un sector popular ubicado en el sur del área metropolitana de Bogotá, y es ilustrativo de las condiciones sociodemográficas y de movilidad que caracterizan a muchas periferias de las ciudades de América Latina.
