Objective: to characterize sexual initiation and sexual risk behaviors that accompany the exercise of sexuality among young people between 15 and 29 years of age in Chile. Methodology: with the results of the Tenth National Youth Survey in Chile, through an inferential statistical analysis and the application of logistic regression models, the main descriptors of sexual initiation are profiled, with emphasis on precocity, formality, and preventive behaviour. Results: according to the data, young men and women initiate sexually at early ages, however, they privilege the formality of the bond and there is a greater presence of preventive behaviour compared to the last decade. Conclusions: the importance of developing socio-educational interventions aimed at modifying risky sexual behaviors, intervening mainly on young people’s attitudes towards prevention, is emphasized. |

Metodología: con los resultados de la Décima Encuesta Nacional de Juventudes en Chile, mediante un análisis estadístico inferencial y la aplicación de modelos de regresión logística, se perfilan los principales descriptores de la iniciación sexual, con énfasis en la precocidad, formalidad y conducta preventiva. Resultados: según los datos, los y las jóvenes se inician sexualmente a edades tempranas, no obstante, privilegian la formalidad del vínculo y se observa una mayor presencia de conducta preventiva respecto a la última década. Conclusiones: se destaca la importancia de desarrollar intervenciones socioeducativas tendientes a modificar conductas sexuales de riesgo, interviniendo principalmente sobre el componente actitudinal.Objectif: caractériser l’initiation sexuelle et les comportements sexuels à risque qui accompagnent l’exercice de la sexualité chez les jeunes de 15 à 29 ans au Chili. Méthodologie: à partir des résultats de la dixième enquête nationale sur la jeunesse au Chili, une analyse statistique inférentielle et l’application de modèles de régression logistique ont permis d’établir le profil des principaux descripteurs de l’initiation sexuelle, en mettant l’accent sur la précocité, la formalité et le comportement préventif. Résultats: d’après les données, les jeunes s’initient à la sexualité à un âge précoce ; cependant, ils privilégient la formalité de la relation et les comportements préventifs sont plus fréquents qu’au cours de la dernière décennie. Conclusions: l’importance de développer des interventions socio-éducatives visant à modifier les comportements sexuels à risque, en intervenant principalement sur la composante attitudinale, est soulignée.Objetivo: caracterizar a iniciação sexual e os comportamentos sexuais de risco que acompanham o exercício da sexualidade entre jovens de 15 a 29 anos no Chile. Resultados: de acordo com os dados, os jovens se iniciam sexualmente em uma idade precoce; entretanto, eles favorecem a formalidade do relacionamento e há uma presença maior de comportamento preventivo do que na última década.
