For this, a documentary research was carried out that supports that any process of teaching-learning of Financial Mathematics subject must be based on the development of thought, reasoning and social awareness, cognitive skills that facilitate problem solving and decision-making in environments of uncertaintyEl presente artículo surgió como una síntesis del primer capítulo de la tesis doctoral denominada “Estrategia didáctica para la asignatura Matemática Financiera en la Carrera de Administración de Empresas de la Universidad Estatal de Milagro en la República del Ecuador”. El objetivo del artículo es sistematizar los referentes teóricosmetodológicos que sustentan el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la asignatura Matemática Financiera desde el enfoque Histórico-Cultural. Para esto, se realizó una investigación documental que sustenta que cualquier proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la asignatura Matemática Financiera debe fundamentarse en el desarrollo del pensamiento, el razonamiento y la conciencia social, competencias cognitivas que facilitan la resolución de problemas y la toma de decisiones en entornos de incertidumbre.Este artigo surgiu como uma síntese do primeiro capítulo da tese de doutorado intitulada "Estratégia didática para a disciplina de Matemática Financeira na Carreira de Administração de Empresas da Universidade Estadual de Milagro na República do Equador". O objetivo do artigo é sistematizar os referenciais teórico-metodológicos que fundamentam o processo de ensino-aprendizagem da disciplina de Matemática Financeira a partir da abordagem Histórico-Cultural.
