This study analyzed the impact of the Nutrinfo Digital Library on the level of nutrition education among students in a Faculty of Food Industries at a university in the Peruvian Amazon, located in the city of Iquitos. The research was based on a quasi-experimental design with a control group. The sample consisted of 62 students enrolled in the faculty and was divided into an experimental group (n = 31) that received the intervention and a control group (n = 31) that received no intervention, thus ensuring baseline homogeneity among participants. For data collection, a validated questionnaire was administered as a pretest and posttest to assess nutrition education, along with a survey aimed at examining perceptions and use of the digital library. Pretest results showed that, prior to the intervention, both groups were comparable, with a predominance of nutritional knowledge at the deficient level ranging from 64.5% to 71.0%. After the digital library intervention, posttest analysis revealed a significant change in the experimental group, where 41.9% of students reached the “Good” knowledge level—an improvement not observed in the control group. It is concluded that the Nutrinfo Digital Library has been validated as a functional and sustainable teaching resource capable of enhancing nutrition education in the university context. Its use resulted in a notable increase in students’ competencies, reflecting a positive and statistically significant transformation. |

La investigación se fundamentó en un diseño cuasi-experimental con grupo de control. La muestra estuvo constituida por 62 estudiantes matriculados en la facultad y se segmentó en un grupo experimental (n=31) que recibió la intervención, y un grupo de control (n=31) que operó sin intervención, garantizando así la homogeneidad inicial de los participantes. Para la recogida de datos, se empleó un cuestionario validado, aplicado como pretest y postest orientado a evaluar la educación nutricional y una encuesta destinada a investigar la percepción y el uso de la biblioteca digital. Los resultados del pretest mostraron que, antes de la intervención, ambos grupos eran equiparables, con un porcentaje predominante de conocimiento nutricional en el nivel deficiente entre el 64,5% y el 71,0%. Tras la intervención con la biblioteca digital, el análisis en el postest reveló un cambio significativo en el grupo experimental, donde el 41,9% de los estudiantes alcanzó el nivel de conocimiento “Bueno”, logro que no se observó en el grupo de control. Se concluye que la Biblioteca Digital Nutrinfo se ha validado como un recurso didáctico funcional y sostenible, capaz de potenciar la educación nutricional en el contexto universitario. Su uso se tradujo en un incremento notable de las competencias del colectivo estudiantil, lo que refleja una transformación positiva y estadísticamente relevante. A amostra foi composta por 62 estudantes matriculados na faculdade e foi segmentada em um grupo experimental (n = 31), que recebeu a intervenção, e um grupo de controle (n = 31), que permaneceu sem intervenção, assegurando, assim, a homogeneidade inicial dos participantes. Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se um questionário validado, aplicado como pré-teste e pós-teste, voltado à avaliação da educação nutricional, bem como uma pesquisa destinada a investigar a percepção e o uso da biblioteca digital. Os resultados do pré-teste mostraram que, antes da intervenção, ambos os grupos eram comparáveis, com predominância de conhecimento nutricional no nível deficiente entre 64,5% e 71,0%. Após a intervenção com a biblioteca digital, a análise do pós-teste revelou uma mudança significativa no grupo experimental, no qual 41,9% dos estudantes atingiram o nível de conhecimento “Bom”, resultado que não foi observado no grupo de controle. Conclui-se que a Biblioteca Digital Nutrinfo foi validada como um recurso didático funcional e sustentável, capaz de potencializar a educação nutricional no contexto universitário.
