The objective of this study is to examine enrollment trends in the Bachelor's Degree in Basic Education at the Universidad Pedagógica Veracruzana, through the analysis of enrollment statistics at the beginning of courses over the last six academic years (2019–2020 to 2024–2025), in order to identify patterns, associated factors, and their potential impact on educational planning. The study was conducted using a quantitative, longitudinal approach with census sampling, employing basic statistical tools, time series analysis, and the linear trend equation to project future scenarios for the next six academic cycles. The data obtained reveal fluctuations in enrollment over the analyzed period, an upward trend in some regional centers, and a constant decline in others, as well as the predominance of female students across all academic years and centers. Finally, three lines of action are proposed to strengthen the program’s enrollment in the coming years: expanding the period of analysis to gain a broader perspective of the phenomenon; conducting ethnographic studies involving the educational community of each regional center to better understand their specific educational context; and implementing graduate follow-up mechanisms to assess the impact of the degree on their entry into teaching or the labor market. |

El estudio se llevó a cabo bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo longitudinal y con muestreo censal, utilizando herramientas de estadística básica, análisis de series de tiempo y la ecuación de tendencia lineal para proyectar escenarios futuros en los próximos seis ciclos escolares. Los datos obtenidos permiten observar las fluctuaciones en la matrícula durante el periodo analizado, el comportamiento ascendente en algunos centros regionales y la disminución constante en otros, así como el predominio de estudiantes del sexo femenino en todos los ciclos escolares y centros. Finalmente, se proponen tres líneas de acción orientadas a fortalecer la matrícula del programa en los próximos años: ampliar el periodo de análisis para contar con una perspectiva más amplia del fenómeno; realizar estudios etnográficos con la participación de la comunidad educativa de cada centro regional, a fin de comprender su realidad específica; e implementar mecanismos de seguimiento a egresados que permitan evaluar el impacto de la licenciatura en su incorporación a la labor docente o al mercado laboral.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar as tendências de matrícula no curso de Licenciatura em Educação Básica da Universidad Pedagógica Veracruzana, por meio da análise das estatísticas de início de curso ao longo dos últimos seis anos letivos (2019–2020 a 2024–2025), com o propósito de identificar padrões, fatores associados e seu possível impacto no planejamento educacional. O estudo foi realizado com uma abordagem quantitativa, de natureza longitudinal e com amostragem censitária, utilizando ferramentas de estatística básica, análise de séries temporais e a equação de tendência linear para projetar cenários futuros para os próximos seis ciclos letivos. Os dados obtidos revelam flutuações na matrícula durante o período analisado, uma tendência de crescimento em alguns centros regionais e uma queda constante em outros, bem como a predominância de estudantes do sexo feminino em todos os anos e centros analisados.
