The proposal that defends this research is the efficient writing using the argumentative essay and its preparation in the academic teaching classroom.El presente trabajo trata de innovar el área de la educación superior mediante el estudio de los beneficios que presenta la redacción del ensayo como herramienta y estrategia pedagógica en el nivel superior de enseñanza de Puerto Rico. Continuamente observamos los profesores de lengua las grandes dificultades que presentan los alumnos en sus principales años de formación universitaria porque desconoce muchas de las herramientas básicas para la redacción eficiente.
