The only useful tool so far, and for a long time, is prevention. The use of masks, personal distancing and the respective rules of cleanliness are the new weapons of the 21st century that we must learn to use, both health personnel and the community.La prevención es el campo que debe crecer en el ámbito sanitario de todos los países, y esto se ha demostrado con la pandemia del SARS-CoV-2, que ha ocasionado, y sigue ocasionando, altas tasas de morbilidad y mortalidad en la población, sin distinguir el estrato social, el tipo de pasaporte, la raza, etc. El tratamiento farmacológico efectivo que nunca llegó puso al descubierto que los sistemas sanitarios no lograban cubrir los requerimientos de los enfermos. La única herramienta útil hasta el momento, y por mucho tiempo, es la prevención. El uso de la mascarilla, el distanciamiento personal y las normas de aseo respectivas son las nuevas armas del siglo XXI que debemos aprender a utilizar, tanto el personal sanitario como la comunidad.Universidad de San Martín de Porres.
