On this matter, from our undergraduate experience, we support such approach; however, we would like to highlight the significance of clinical simulation training as a support to the practice axis in medical education. We would also like to highlight the little importance given to the study of the pathophysiology specific to the elderly during undergraduate studies in some educational programs.Sra. Editora: Hemos leído con interés el artículo titulado “Clases teóricas, ¿cosa del pasado en la docencia de ciencias básicas en Medicina?” (1), publicado por Enrique Ruiz-Mori en el último volumen de su revista, donde se resalta la importancia de tener un balance entre tres ejes para la enseñanza de pregrado en Medicina Humana: teoría, práctica y seminario. Al respecto, por la experiencia adquirida durante pregrado, apoyamos dicho enfoque, sin embargo, nos gustaría resaltar la importancia de la clínica de simulación como apoyo al eje de práctica en educación médica. También destacamos la poca relevancia que se da al estudio de la fisiopatología propia del geronte durante el pregrado en algunos programas educativos.Universidad de San Martín de Porres.
