This article explores what are the levels of consumption of traditional media, as well as digital media of young Mexican students from different regions of this country. The research was carried out in the context of the presidential elections of 2018. More than 1200 questionnaires were applied on line. The main objective of the research is to understand both traditional and digital media consumption and how these factors affect the political participation of this group of the population, inside and outside the internet. Among the main results expected to find a growing trend in the use of digital media to the detriment of the traditional, as well as a close relationship between political participation and media consumption.Diversos estudios académicos han confirmado que en la actualidad los jóvenes universitarios utilizan los medios sociales para obtener información sobre lo que acontece en su entorno. En el presente artículo se exploran los niveles de consumo de medios tradicionales y digitales por parte los jóvenes mexicanos de diferentes regiones del país. La investigación se realizó en el contexto de las elecciones presidenciales del 2018, aplicándose más de 1200 cuestionarios en línea. Tuvo como objetivo principal comprender el consumo tanto de los medios tradicionales y digitales y cómo se relacionan estos factores con la participación política de este grupo de la población, dentro y fuera de la red. Entre los resultados principales se espera encontrar una tendencia creciente en la utilización de medios digitales en detrimento de los tradicionales, así como una estrecha relación entre la participación política dentro y fuera de línea.Universidad San Martín de Porres.
