This purpose of this article is to view the treads, weakness and limitations of the CBE. La cirugía basada en la evidencia (CBE) se sustenta en la investigación clínica y en el positivismo. Ambas están siendo cuestionadas en razón a las características propias de la práctica quirúrgica donde predomina la técnica y el arte. Consecuencia de ello no existe un número importante de evidencias publicadas. Esto constituye una limitacion en la aplicación de la CBE.
