description El siguiente trabajo de investigación tiene como propósito elaborar un Plan estratégico del Sector Metalmecánico hacia el año 2021, el cual señala las estrategias para que las empresas metalmecánicas logren en el largo plazo atender la demanda nacional e internacional, brindado productos de calidad, aplicando la innovación tecnológica, actuando con excelencia en sus procesos y respetando el medioambiente y las comunidades de influencia. El análisis del estado actual del Sector Metalmecánico indica que las principales oportunidades son: la reactivación económica del país, principalmente en los sectores minería, construcción e hidrocarburos; el inicio de proyectos de inversión estancados, por parte del nuevo gobierno; y la exportación hacia los países miembros de la Alianza del Pacífico. Asimismo, el sector debe hacer frente a las amenazas como son: el iincremento de competidores provenientes de países industrializados quienes ofrecen alta tecnología y menores precios; la informalidad del sector y la recesión económica en países importadores de productos metalmecánicos nacionales. Los aspectos más importantes analizados en la investigación son: Evaluación Interna, Evaluación Externa, Intereses del Sector Metalmecánica y Objetivos Estratégicos a Largo Plazo, Proceso Estratégico, Implementación Estratégica y Evaluación Estratégica. Finalmente, después de analizar las diferentes matrices del proceso de planeamiento estratégico se plantearon estrategias que aportan al desarrollo del sector metalmecánico como son: la asociatividad para aprovechar la capacidad instalada y sumar esfuerzos para la exportación; desarrollar una marca país de los productos nacionales, los cuales se diferencien por su calidad, tecnología y servicio; el desarrollo de nuevos productos y aplicaciones para disminuir la dependencia del sector metalmecánico con sectores tradicionales como la minería y construcción y realizar misiones tecnológicas a países industrializados para mejorar el nivel tecnológico del sector metalmecánico

The analysis of the current state of the Metalworking Sector indicates that the main opportunities are: the economic reactivation of the country, mainly in the mining, construction and hydrocarbons sectors; the unlocking of investment projects by the new government; and export to the member countries of the Pacific Alliance. Also, the sector must face the threats such as: the increase of competitors from industrialized countries who offer high technology and lower prices; the informality of the sector and the economic recession in countries that import national metalworking products. The most important aspects analyzed in the research are: Internal Evaluation, External Evaluation, Metalworking Sector Interests and Long Term Strategic Objectives, Strategic Process, Strategic Implementation and Strategic Evaluation.
