La región Junín ha mostrado un incremento de 30,035 arribos el año 2016 comparado con el año 2015 y ha venido teniendo un incremento de visitantes nacionales, siendo las razones su ubicación estratégica en la zona central del país, cuenta con sierra y selva, su cercanía con la capital, clima variado, un nutrido calendario de actividades folklóricas, costumbres y tradiciones, logrando tener ventajas competitivas frente a las otras regiones y representa una importante opción de visita para el turista nacional en cualquier época del año. Este Plan Estratégico del sector turismo en la región Junín, tiene un gran reto para ser una alternativa de desarrollo, que beneficie a la población al generar fuentes de empleo y contribuya a la economía regional; para tal efecto se ha planteado tres objetivos a largo plazo analizados en base a los recursos que se tiene actualmente. El turismo en la región Junín, cuenta con los elementos claves para su sostenibilidad, cabe indicar que la visión contempla ser la segunda región de acogida de turistas internos así como estar entre los diez primeros lugares de destino de turismo internacional, esto hará posible que se mejore todos los servicios que ofrece los diversos agentes turísticos de la región. Para ello se requiere la consecución de los planes vigentes, fomentar la conciencia turística, dar prioridad a este sector por parte de los gobiernos y al esfuerzo mancomunado de la sociedad civil, en aras de lograr que este sector constituya un eje de aporte al PBI, generación de empleo y el crecimiento económico de la región Junín

The Strategic Plan of the tourism sector has a great challenge to be able to realize that the sector is an alternative of development that benefits to the population and is a motor of the regional economy. Having shaped the vision, mission and values of the tourism sector of the Junín region, there are key elements for this sector to develop in a sustainable way, have an adequate compass of where you want to arrive in 2022 and determine the different longterm objectives to be achieved. It is projected to be the first region to host domestic tourists as well as to be among the top ten destinations of international tourism, this will make it possible to improve all the services offered by the various tourist agents in the region.
