Partiendo de esta premisa, la presente investigación busca comprender la influencia que tienen las prácticas de comunicación participativa en el empoderamiento de los jóvenes que integran la Brigada Ecológica Yanachaga, iniciativa ambiental promovida por la jefatura del Parque Nacional Yanachaga - Chemillén, en la ciudad de Oxapampa, Pasco. A través de un estudio cualitativo, basado en entrevistas y reuniones de discusión, se aborda la experiencia de catorce jóvenes con edades entre los 11 y 18 años y de su instructor adulto. Como resultado, se observa que las prácticas de comunicación participativa influyen positivamente en el empoderamiento de los brigadistas. Ello se produce a partir de tres procesos diferenciados: el establecimiento de relaciones horizontales, el ejercicio de la acción reflexiva y la generación de oportunidades para producir impacto.

Starting from this assumption, this research aims to comprehend the influence participatory communication practices exert over the empowerment process of a group of young people who are part of the Yanachaga Environmental Brigade, based at the city of Oxapampa, Peru. Utilizing qualitative methodologies, such as interviews and group discussions, experiences of fourteen teenagers from 11 to 18 years old and those of their adult instructor are assessed.
