Sumario: | This research explores the role of knowledge management (KM) in enhancing the supply and quality of music production in Peru. Firstly, it examines how the global music sector leverages technological advancements through the digitization of content and real-time data collection on key stakeholders—consumers, producers, creators, and cultural managers. This approach enables the identification of opportunities to improve the services and products offered by the industry. Moreover, digitization facilitates the adaptation and development of innovation processes, which have become essential for the survival and growth of economic sectors, particularly in the post-COVID-19 context, as seen in cultural and creative industries (CCI), including the music sector. Secondly, the research focuses on an exploratory analysis of the current state of the music sector in Peru, with special emphasis on the main challenges faced by self-managed bands in strengthening their supply and quality. These challenges include a lack of technological and financial resources, difficulties in professionalization and access to adequate infrastructure, and limited market strategies that hinder greater competitiveness and the reach of their musical products. To illustrate this scenario, interviews present representative cases that highlight the difficulties and opportunities characterizing this sector in the country. Finally, based on the previous analysis, the study offers a set of conclusions and recommendations on how KM methodologies could benefit key areas of Peru’s music sector, such as collecting relevant information for decision-making, professionalizing stakeholders, real-time interaction with demand, and optimizing creative and compositional processes. Implementing these practices would contribute to long-term improvements in the supply and quality of self-managed music production in Peru, positioning it more competitively at regional and international levels. |
