A fin de responderla, se planteó como objetivo principal explicar la importancia de la Educación Ambiental en la formación docente. La metodología es documental, de corte bibliográfico, lo cual permitió aportar al desarrollo de nuevos conocimientos. El estudio conceptualiza dos categorías de investigación: la Educación Ambiental y la formación docente en EA, que se presentarán en un capítulo, cada una. La conclusión final de este informe evidencia el menester social de una formación docente en torno a la EA, bajo un enfoque por competencias, que propicie el desarrollo de la conciencia ambiental en los aprendices, desde una mirada coherente en el dominio conceptual, procedimental y actitudinal.
