Characterization and butanol/ethanol sensing properties of mixed tungsten oxide and copper tungstate films obtained by spray-sol-gel

Descripción del Articulo

Mixed WO3 – CuWO4 films have been prepared from aqueous solution of copper sulfate and polytungsten gel with molar ratio Cu/W from 0 to 100 %. These solutions were sprayed onto alumina substrates at 220 ºC. The obtained films were amorphous, and crystallized after an annealing at 300 °C in air for 3...

These solutions were sprayed onto alumina substrates at 220 ºC. The obtained films were amorphous, and crystallized after an annealing at 300 °C in air for 3 h. The annealed films were composed by a mixture of CuWO4 and WO3 phases. The film obtained from a solution with an equimolar ratio of Cu/W was a pure CuWO4. The pure WO3 films obtained have a high surface “irregularities” (eventually the porosity). Those surface “irregularities” in the films were maintained or eventually increased as Cu/W molar ratio augments in the starting solution up to 10%. The gas sensitivities to butanol and ethanol vapors are also enhanced when the CuWO4 phase increases in the film up to 7% - 10%; further increments to this proportion the detection sensitivity decreases, so compromises are around 7% -10%. The gas sensitivity of pure CuWO4 was lower than pure WO3.This work has been financially supported by the International Program for Physical Science of Uppsala University (IPPS), the Instituto de Investigación of Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, and CONCYTEC (Peruvian Research Council)application/pdfengLima (Perú)PEinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessInstituto Peruano de Energía NuclearRepositorio Institucional del Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearreponame:IPEN-Institucionalinstname:Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearinstacron:IPENÓxidos de volframioPelículasSulfatos de cobreButanolesEtanolDifracción de rayos XCharacterization and butanol/ethanol sensing properties of mixed tungsten oxide and copper tungstate films obtained by spray-sol-gelinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleORIGINAL_108-114_ Spray-Sol-Gel DAMIAN - RODRIGUEZ - SOLIS _R_.pdf_108-114_ Spray-Sol-Gel DAMIAN - RODRIGUEZ - SOLIS _R_.pdfapplication/pdf753457https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/357/1/_108-114_%20Spray-Sol-Gel%20DAMIAN%20-%20RODRIGUEZ%20-%20SOLIS%20_R_.pdf790a6d50da3bc2ac7d4e728ee684ccf0MD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-8103https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/357/2/license.txt7ecf7b0639239de61a3a1ede9c397fecMD52TEXT_108-114_ Spray-Sol-Gel DAMIAN - RODRIGUEZ - SOLIS _R_.pdf.txt_108-114_ Spray-Sol-Gel DAMIAN - RODRIGUEZ - SOLIS _R_.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain20050https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/357/3/_108-114_%20Spray-Sol-Gel%20DAMIAN%20-%20RODRIGUEZ%20-%20SOLIS%20_R_.pdf.txt05f74338fc8e2bf667d44af86665b141MD53THUMBNAIL_108-114_ Spray-Sol-Gel DAMIAN - RODRIGUEZ - SOLIS _R_.pdf.jpg_108-114_ Spray-Sol-Gel DAMIAN - RODRIGUEZ - SOLIS _R_.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg24015https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/357/4/_108-114_%20Spray-Sol-Gel%20DAMIAN%20-%20RODRIGUEZ%20-%20SOLIS%20_R_.pdf.jpg976ddd663cdeb86cac3388f7d6cfd0c2MD5420.500.13054/357oai:repositorio.ipen.gob.pe:20.500.13054/3572022-02-07 18:05:00.901Repositorio Institucional del Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearrepositorio@ipen.gob.peU2UgRGlzdHJpYnV5ZSBiYWpvIHVuYSBMaWNlbmNpYSBDcmVhdGl2ZSBDb21tb25zIEF0cmlidWNpw7NuLU5vQ29tZXJjaWFsLVNpbkRlcml2YXIgNC4wIEludGVybmFjaW9uYWwuCg==
