En vista de este problema y en un intento de recuperar esta especie de gran valor se desea obtener una tecnología óptima de propagación. En el presente artículo se evaluó el Poder Germinativo (PG) de semillas en función de 2 tratamientos pre-germinativos (remojo de semillas por 5 días en agua fría permanente y cambiándola diariamente) y a su tiempo de almacenamiento; el material biológico provino de árboles candidatos a semilleros ubicados en la Zona de Amortiguamiento del Bosque de Protección de Pagaibamba - Chota. Determinándose que no existe diferencia del PG entre tratamientos y el testigo, pero el remojo de semillas cambiando el agua diariamente aceleró y homogenizó la germinación. Además, la disminución del P.G. en función al tiempo de almacenamiento puede ser representado por el modelo % P.G.= e(4.7229−0.0496*meses).E, que tiene un R2 de 0.882; estimándose que las semillas de la Quina de los árboles semilleros identificados pierden toda su viabilidad alrededor de los 3 años.application/pdfspaINIA.
