Publicación Especial, n° 9, 2010.Páginas 1267-1269.Como resultado de una larga sucesión de procesos geológicos de millones de años se formaron los relieves, donde se diferencian las diferentes unidades geomorfológicas del Perú, cada una de ellas caracterizada por la presencia de determinados tipos de rocas y por su altitud sobre el nivel del mar; además, o como consecuencia de ello, se caracterizan también por sus climas, tipos de suelo, flora, fauna y la presencia de grupos humanos de idiosincrasia y cultura también propios, todo lo cual le da a nuestro país un carácter geográfico y geológico complejo y socialmente multicultural. En este escenario y en pocos miles de años el hombre pobló los Andes, descubrió sus variados recursos, se valió de ellos, desarrolló tecnologías, ocasionó daños, en algunos casos los reparó, descubrió nuevas tecnologías y cada vez tiene mayor cuidado ambiental en el desarrollo de sus actividades económicas; sin embargo el uso de los espacios se hace cada vez más complejo y surge la necesidad de ordenarse. En el presente trabajo se analiza la forma como se viene implementando el proceso de zonificación ecológica económica (ZEE) con respecto a los recursos mineros, paso previo del ordenamiento territorial.
