Resúmenes.4 páginas.El área de estudio se encuentra comprendida en parte de los distritos de Aija y La Merced, provincia de Aija y departamento de Ancash (Fig. 1); conformando parte de la Cordillera Occidental del Norte del Perú y del substrato del campo volcánico Cordillera Negra de edad Cenozoica (Navarro et al., en preparación). El objetivo principal de este artículo es dar a conocer la existencia de peces fósilesdel Jurásico, nunca antes reportados en el Perú, pero si halladas en Chile y Argentina (Arratia et al., 1975 &1985).
