Publicación Especial, n° 9, 2010.Páginas 862-866.Afloramientos de unidades triásicas y jurásicas inferior se encuentran en el norte y centro de Perú, en el noroeste de Cerro de Pasco y el sureste de Huancayo, y corresponden a la cuenca Pucará (Levin, 1974; Prinz, 1985; Loughman & Hallam, 1982; Rosas, 1994). En esta cuenca se halla el Grupo Pucará, el cual está dividido en tres unidades que corresponden a las formaciones Chambará (Noriano al Retiano), Aramachay (Retiano-Hettangiano al Sinemuriano) y Condorsinga (Sinemuriano superior al Pliensbachiano-Toarciano) respectivamente (Loughman & Hallam, 1982; Carlotto et al., 2009). Respecto a la Formación Condorsinga, estudios anteriores señalaban que ésta unidad se encuentra restringida solo en el centro de Perú (Loughman & Hallam, 1982) y que no hay evidencia de una unidad equivalente en la parte noroeste de Perú (Pardo & Sanz, 1979; Mourier, 1988). Sin embargo hacia el río Chignia y el río Limón en Lambayeque, se han descrito columnas compuestas de calizas laminadas, pelitas verdosas intercaladas con calizas y areniscas cuarzo-feldespáticas, donde en las calizas se halló hildocerátidos que sugieren el Toarciano superior de la Formación Sávila.
