A series of different mass combinations of excipients was prepared using ascorbic acid, sodium thiosulphate, mannitol, maltose, magnesium sulphate, lactose, dextrose, sodium phosphate, and sucrose. These compounds were tested for their volatility and oxidation profile. Two of the excipient mixtures were selected to prepare capsules due to their high stability and low volatility. The experiments performed to evaluate a new excipients mixture are described in this manuscript. © 2020, Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - ConcytecengSpringer Science and Business Media B.V.Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistryinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessThyroid therapyNa131I capsules-1Radioiodine capsules-1Thyroid gland-1http://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#2.04.01-1A proposal of excipients mixture for the elaboration of Na131I capsulesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlereponame:CONCYTEC-Institucionalinstname:Consejo Nacional de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovacióninstacron:CONCYTEC20.500.12390/2293oai:repositorio.concytec.gob.pe:20.500.12390/22932024-05-30 16:06:58.295http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessmetadata only accesshttps://repositorio.concytec.gob.peRepositorio Institucional CONCYTECrepositorio@concytec.gob.pe#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#<Publication xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/1.1/" id="80102f71-7c65-4621-aea8-ea6789404a86"> <Type xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/vocab/COAR_Publication_Types">http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_1843</Type> <Language>eng</Language> <Title>A proposal of excipients mixture for the elaboration of Na131I capsules</Title> <PublishedIn> <Publication> <Title>Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry</Title> </Publication> </PublishedIn> <PublicationDate>2020</PublicationDate> <DOI>https://doi.org/10.1007/s10967-020-07255-w</DOI> <SCP-Number>2-s2.0-85089917933</SCP-Number> <Authors> <Author> <DisplayName>Alviar M.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp05420" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Miranda J.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp05421" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Bedregal P.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp05422" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> </Authors> <Editors> </Editors> <Publishers> <Publisher> <DisplayName>Springer Science and Business Media B.V.</DisplayName> <OrgUnit /> </Publisher> </Publishers> <Keyword>Thyroid therapy</Keyword> <Keyword>Na131I capsules</Keyword> <Keyword>Radioiodine capsules</Keyword> <Keyword>Thyroid gland</Keyword>
Since the use of radioiodine for thyroid therapy in the form of an oral solution has risks associated with contamination, the need to develop suitable Na131I capsules has attracted significant attention.
