The external part of the mango pit (mango seed husk) was used for the production of activated carbon (AC) for the first time. Despite that the raw agro-materials exhibited significantly different porosity, all activated carbons produced possessed well-developed microporous–mesoporous structures showing high surface areas and micropore volumes.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - ConcytecengSpringer NatureWater Air and Soil Pollutioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesscarbonsagro-industrial wastes-1agro-industrial wastes-1https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#4.00.00-1A Comparative Study on Activated Carbons Derived from a Broad Range of Agro-industrial Wastes in Removal of Large-Molecular-Size Organic Pollutants in Aqueous Phaseinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlereponame:CONCYTEC-Institucionalinstname:Consejo Nacional de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovacióninstacron:CONCYTEC20.500.12390/1233oai:repositorio.concytec.gob.pe:20.500.12390/12332024-05-30 15:45:15.731http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessmetadata only accesshttps://repositorio.concytec.gob.peRepositorio Institucional CONCYTECrepositorio@concytec.gob.pe#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#<Publication xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/1.1/" id="4b63e414-c704-410c-bc59-93d5ef73f89d"> <Type xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/vocab/COAR_Publication_Types">http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_1843</Type> <Language>eng</Language> <Title>A Comparative Study on Activated Carbons Derived from a Broad Range of Agro-industrial Wastes in Removal of Large-Molecular-Size Organic Pollutants in Aqueous Phase</Title> <PublishedIn> <Publication> <Title>Water Air and Soil Pollution</Title> </Publication> </PublishedIn> <PublicationDate>2015</PublicationDate> <DOI>https://doi.org/10.1007/s11270-015-2474-7</DOI> <ISI-Number>357690100013</ISI-Number> <Authors> <Author> <DisplayName>Cruz, GJF</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01001" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Matejova, L</DisplayName> <Person id="rp02016" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Pirila, M</DisplayName> <Person id="rp02420" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Ainassaari, K</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01921" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Canepa, CA</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03538" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Solis, J</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01005" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Cruz, JF</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01004" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Solcova, O</DisplayName> <Person id="rp02020" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Keiski, RL</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01000" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> </Authors> <Editors> </Editors> <Publishers> <Publisher> <DisplayName>Springer Nature</DisplayName> <OrgUnit /> </Publisher> </Publishers> <Keyword>carbons</Keyword> <Keyword>agro-industrial wastes</Keyword> <Keyword>agro-industrial wastes</Keyword>
Microporous–mesoporous activated carbons from five different types of agro-industrial wastes were produced using chemical activation with ZnCl2 and carbonization at mild conditions of 600 °C, comprehensively characterized and investigated for removal of methylene blue (MB) in aqueous solution, a model large-molecular-size organic pollutant.
