Recycling avoids the accumulation of waste in landfills, which can contami-nate soil, water, and air as well as reducing the production of new products. The objective of this work is to implement a mobile application to improve waste management by recycling companies. The Mobile-D methodology was used for the development of the project because it focuses on optimizing the efficiency and performance of mobile applications since it allows working in 5 phases which are: Exploration, Initialization, Production, Stabilization and Testing. In the first indicator (KPI-1), an improvement in customer retention was observed, with an increase of 114.29% in positive responses in the post-test. In the second indicator (KPI-2), there was a 39.92% decrease in response time, indicating a faster response in the col-lection service. In the third indicator (KPI-3), a significant increase of 86.86% in the volume of waste for recycling was observed. The results showed improvements in all indicators, indicat-ing a positive impact of the implementation of the mobile application on waste management by the companies in the sector.application/pdfengInternational Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies (iJIM)info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Mobile-DGeolocationMobile applicationRecyclinghttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#2.02.04Improving Environmental Sustainability: A Geolocation-Based Mobile Application to Optimize the Recycling Processinfo:eu-repo/semantics/article17233248reponame:AUTONOMA-Institucionalinstname:Universidad Autónoma del Perúinstacron:AUTONOMATEXT136.pdf.txt136.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain42521http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3063/3/136.pdf.txta6a5369fe031f9950b3be4fd3ddfc702MD53THUMBNAIL136.pdf.jpg136.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg6162http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3063/4/136.pdf.jpge6214b0c951880470574dc622a4c7392MD54ORIGINAL136.pdf136.pdfArtículoapplication/pdf1384308http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3063/1/136.pdf2d2e6a96d94cfb71ffa6371afa873446MD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-885http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3063/2/license.txt9243398ff393db1861c890baeaeee5f9MD5220.500.13067/3063oai:repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe:20.500.13067/30632024-03-28 03:00:42.687Repositorio de la Universidad Autonoma del Perúrepositorio@autonoma.peVG9kb3MgbG9zIGRlcmVjaG9zIHJlc2VydmFkb3MgcG9yOg0KVU5JVkVSU0lEQUQgQVVUw5NOT01BIERFTCBQRVLDmg0KQ1JFQVRJVkUgQ09NTU9OUw==
