Este diagnóstico inicial recopila datos e información relevante sobre el ámbito de estudio. Las principales fuentes de información fueron la base de datos que gestiona el Observatorio del Agua, reportes y estadísticas de la Autoridad Nacional del Agua, SEDAPAL, INGEMMET, SENAMHI y otros estudios y proyectos implementados en el ámbito de las cuencas. Así también, se desarrollaron talleres para recoger las percepciones de los actores claves respecto a la problemática actual y futura que enfrenta las cuencas.
