This article describes the relationship of Peruvian romantic authors with Spanish literature, with special emphasis on Jose Zorrilla’s connections with the group of “bohemians” that Ricardo Palma portrays in his book La bohemia de mi tiempo, and mainly Zorrilla’s relationship with the author of Tradiciones. The two writers had a fluid epistolary exchange and they met in Madrid when Palma was there as a Peruvian envoy for the celebrations of Columbus’ fourth centenary. In addition to the social connections, Zorrilla’s literary influences on the writing of the “bohemians” and Palma himself are highlighted.
En este artículo se describe la relación de los autores románticos peruanos con la literatura española, con especial atención en los vínculos de José Zorrilla con el grupo de «bohemios» que Ricardo Palma retrata en su libro La bohemia de mi tiempo y, principalmente, las relaciones de Zorrilla con el autor de las Tradiciones. Ambos escritores mantuvieron un fluido intercambio epistolar y se conocieron en Madrid cuando Palma estuvo allí como enviado peruano a las celebraciones del cuarto centenario colombino. Además de los vínculos sociales, se resaltan las influencias literarias de Zorrilla sobre la escritura de los «bohemios» y del propio Palma.
