Continúa definiendo a las ciencias fácticas, para posteriormente tratar sobre las características de las ciencias naturales. En una segunda parte, se aborda con cierto detalle los métodos de las ciencias naturales: el método inductivo y el método hipotético-deductivo, siendo este último el método de explicación e investigación más utilizado por la ciencia en la actualidad.
