The Peruvian coal deposits have been formed along the continental ridge in three different important short times of the Peruvian geology history. The genesis is an indicator for the weather, geomorphology and the local geography latitude, and indirectly to the continental derive, regional tectonic and eustatic variation of the level of sea during the Phanerozoic, each of these times is related to the Peruvian tectonic development and mainly with the continental derive and the lineaments with the plate tectonics. The main causes of genesis of Peruvian basin coals were during each formation time, different, been all these basin subparallel to the continental ridge that was originally Gondwana and it belongs actually to South America, that is why the coal basins give an integral vision of the Peruvian geology in the Global Geotectonic.
Los depósitos de carbón en el Perú se han formado a lo largo del borde continental en tres periodos cortos cruciales para la historia geológica del país, Su génesis es un claro indicador para el clima, geomorfología y latitud geográfi ca local e indirectamente para la deriva continental, tectónica regional y variaciones eustáticas del nivel del mar durante el Fanerozoico; cada uno de estos periodos está estrechamente vinculado con el desarrollo tectónico del Perú y particularmente con la deriva continental y/o lineamientos entre las placas. Las causas inmediatas de la génesis de las cuencas carboníferas peruanas fueron durante cada periodo de formación del carbón distintas, siendo todas estas cuencas sub-paralelas al borde continental que fue originalmente de Gondwana y actualmente es de América del Sur; por esto el estudio de las cuencas carboníferas aporta una visión integral de la geología del Perú en la geotectónica global.
