The Metallurgical Mining Patrimony of Tinyahuarco (Smelter) is located 10 km southwest of Cerro de Pasco city, and between years 1906 and 1923, was the biggest foundry of the time that worked. The remains of the foundry deserve to be catalogued as a metallurgical mining patrimony because besides the infrastructure of walls and columns, which persist until today, also remain some parts like the furnace, the coke plant, some offices and the hotel; from them, the one that is in good condition, is the superintendent residence, which at the moment is inhabited. It is important to remark the history of the mining activity in this region that was transformed by the presence of the foundry of Tinyahuarco (Smelter), constructed with North American investments that helped to develop the mining industry with the best technology of the time, changing many social and economical aspects of the region and therefore of the country. The given value of the mining patrimony of Tinyahuarco is of great importance for the zone, because it is necessary to be prepare before the mine closing, for what, areas for sustainable development must be created, which implies to take advantage of the mining and metallurgical aspects and other attractiveness of the zone; so that, these patrimonies serve with educational aims, research, recreational and tourism; the last one could generate economical flow and it is possible to create natural attractive touristic circuits and cultural ones, which exist in the zone and is necessary to be studied and evaluated.
El Patrimonio Minero Metalúrgico de Tinyahuarco (Smelter) se ubica a 10 km al suroeste de la ciudad de Cerro de Pasco, fue la más grande fundición de la época que funcionó entre los años 1906 y 1923. Los restos que quedan de la fundición merecen catalogarse como un Patrimonio minero metalúrgico, porque además de la infraestructura de paredes y columnas que aún persisten hasta el día de hoy, se tienen restos de lo que fueron los hornos, la planta de coke, algunas oficinas y el hotel, de los cuales la que se halla en buen estado de conservación es la residencia que fue del superintendente y que actualmente es habitada. Es importante remarcar la historia de la minería en esta región, que fue transformada por la presencia de la Fundición de Tinyahuarco (Smelter), construida con inversiones norteamericanas que da inicio al desarrolló de la minería con la mejor tecnología de la época, cambiando los aspectos sociales y económicos de la región y, por ende, del país. La puesta en valor del patrimonio minero de Tinyahuarco es de gran importancia para la zona, porque es necesario estar anticipándonos al cierre de las minas del lugar, para lo cual deben crearse áreas para el desarrollo sustentable, que implica aprovechar los aspectos mineros y metalúrgicos y otros atractivos de la zona para que estos patrimonios sirvan con fines educativos, de investigación, recreativos y de turismo, este último puede generar movimiento económico y se pueda crear circuitos turísticos con otros atractivos naturales y culturales que existen en la zona y que es necesario estudiarlos y valorarlos
