Environmental management of tourist activity in the southern Amazon region

The research study propose the environmentalmanagement of the tourist activities in the upper side of the Uctubamba river, located in the provinces of Luya and Bongará, Amazon Region, specifically, for the tourist destinations of the Kuelap’s Fortress and the Gocta’sWaterfall. The main objectiveswere to proceed with the environmental diagnosis in the tourist destinations of Kuelap’s Fortress and the Gocta’s Waterfall, identifying theenvironmental impacts due to tourism, and finally present an Environmental Management Plan. Among the main proposals of environmental management are included the implementation of suggested environmental policy, the soil quality’s management and the archeologist and tourists’ resources.
El estudio de investigación propone la gestión ambiental de las actividades turísticas en la cuenca alta del río Uctubamba, ubicada en las provincias de Luya y Bongará, Región Amazonas, específicamente, para los destinos turísticos de la Fortaleza de Kuélap y Catarata de Gocta. Los obejtivos principales fueron efectuar el diagnóstico ambiental de los destinos turísticos Fortaleza de Kuélap y Catarata de Gocta, identificar los impactos ambientales debido a la actividad turística y finalmente plantear un Plan de Manejo Ambiental. Entre las principales propuestas de gestión ambiental figuran la implementación de la política ambiental sugerida, el manejo de calidad de los suelos y el manejo de los recursos arqueológicos y turísticos
