In this study we will see the conceptual attributes, the influence of Quevedo or her relation with purely baroque symbols, and also at the same time a certain relationship with painting will be noted in the writer. Even though this aspect has already been seen by few people, very little has been said about the purely artistic aspects of baroque or above all of the important presence of its vanity.Este artículo muestra cómo el barroco enriquece la poética de Blanca Varela. Dicha relación ha sido poco estudiada y ha pasado casi inadvertida en los estudios. Los temas existenciales, el marcado predominio de la antítesis, los juegos entre luz y sombra, las alusiones grotescas, el escepticismo sobre la verdad y la realidad, entre otros rasgos presentes en la lírica de Varela, tienen en el barroco a uno de sus más antiguos referentes. En el presente trabajo se verán sus atributos conceptistas, las menciones quevedianas o su relación con los símbolos barrocos, a la vez que se profundizará la ligazón de la escritora con la pintura.
