Thus, it is postulatedthat the Quechua language and culture are decisive, both as a system and Andeanmentality, for the resemantization of such units.Nuestra comunicación trata sobre una clase particular de unidades fraseológicas que se encuentran presentes en el discurso de los usuarios quechuas del dialecto ayacuchano: locuciones nominales y verbales del cuerpo humano (somatismos). La evaluación de estas unidades se centra en la descripción y la explicación del contexto cultural que motiva el significado que exhiben las expresiones en la mentalidad andina.
