Peru is one of the countries most exposed to catastrophic events worldwide such as: floods, debris flow, tsunamis, earthquakes. Particularly, earthquakes are generated by the interaction of the Nazca and South American plates known as the subduction process and shallow faults. Likewise, another major problem that Peru is going through is informality in construction, which, added to a large earthquake, could bring with it great economic losses and human lives. Therefore, these problems have motivated the development of this research, which aims to evaluate the seismic risk of buildings in the district of Ayacucho - Peru. The purpose of this work is to implement an algorithm to identify the seismic waves parameters: P phase, S phase, amplitude, period and duration. For this, digital signal processing and the programming language Matlab will be applied to perform the automatic reading of seismic signal parameters. As mathematical tools, the discrete Fourier transform (fft) to study the frecuency components of the signal and the Hilbert transform to obtain the envelope signal, will be used. A graphical user interface in Matlab was designed and implemented for reading (with functions of automatic reading or manual reading) seismic signals with three components. In this way, it makes easy the routine of reading the seismic signals within a great set. The results of the automatic algorithm agree with that of a manual operator for a great Signal/Noise ratio.

La superconductividad es el fenómeno que se da en algunos materiales metálicos y cerámicos. Se caracteriza por tener resistencia cero y ser diamagnéticos puros, presentándose a temperaturas menores a la temperatura critica. Existen dos tendencias principales para el estudio de los superconductores, teoría BCS y el método de ondas de espin. La razón del presente trabajo es analizar los cerámicos YBa2Cu3O7 (Y123) y YBa2Cu4O8 (Y124) en el estado fundamental (T igual a 0), paramagnético con el programa TB-LMTO-ASA y en forma complementaria, el programa “Augmented Spherical Wave” (ASW). Específicamente, se presentan cálculos de las bandas de energía, densidad de estados, densidad de carga total y parcial, la función de localización electrónica y la energía total.
