This article offers to examine the main content related to two comparative socio-educational normative frameworks, based on dimensions in social ethics and human development. Contemporary religious literature raises referential content to ethical-social learning in accordance with individual moral thought, on the other hand, the globalized capabilities approach maintains that a utilitarian or mercantilist educational policy generates educational-training neglect in human development as a starting point. Methodologically, through the comparative analysis, parallel and contemporary basic premises are identified in both normative frameworks, since the premises in Jorge Bergoglio's literature hypothetically coincide with the related proposal of the capabilities approach of Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum. This research aims to compare some variables with students enrolled in a Higher Education Institution (IES) pursuing distance-virtual undergraduate programs. The sample included students from the Faculty of Distance Studies (FAEDIS) at the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada (UMNG). A parallel was drawn between the 2015-II and 2024-I periods, comparing economic, demographic, and institutional aspects. A descriptive methodology was used, using a survey instrument that corresponded to a sample of 15.2% of the enrolled student body. The above shows that a significant proportion of the students who responded were between 22 and 35 years old, indicating a young adult population. However, the 17-21 age group showed a significant increase. The growing visibility of violence in schools has caused multiple demands to know their condition in our societies. Given this, the conceptual, analytical and methodological challenges faced between those engaged in their empirical research are evident. However, many of those who face these challenges do not analyze the parallel processes that are configured as the research progresses. This is the case of changes about the role of students in this collective effort. The objective of this document is to analyze the advances and dilemmas of the empirical research on violence in Mexico, focusing on the implications derived from the legitimization of the voices of children and adolescents.
