This research aimed to determine the factors for Educational Effectiveness and to build an empirical model for Teaching Effectiveness in Ibero-America. A Multilevel Model with four levels of analysis was used to assess teaching effectiveness. The sample consisted of 5,722 students, (all at their third year of primary school), from 257 classrooms at 100 schools located in 9 countries of Ibero-America. The results showed the existence of ten factors of Teaching Effectiveness that impact on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of students: Involvement and commitment of the teacher; Classroom climate; High expectations and selfesteem; Structured lessons; Varied-participatory activities; Attention to diversity; Optimization of learning time; Classroom organization and management; Use of educational resources; Educational assessment, monitoring, and continuous feedback.

The Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 was adapted for the adult population of Buenos Aires. Participants were 225 subjects (68.4% female; 30.7% male, 0.9% non-binary). Instruments administered were: survey of sociodemographic data and characteristics of use of social networks; Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2; Mental Health Continuum Short Form and; Symptom Check List-27. Confirmatory factor analysis was carried out; It was found an adequate fit of the structure proposed by the original author. Cronbach’s and ordinals alphas ranged from .77 to .87. Significant positive correlations were found between the generalized problematic use of the Internet, the psychopathological symptoms and the time of use of social media. Associations were negative with psychological well-being.

Introduction: The implementation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requires the adoption of Active Learning Methods (ALMs) to promote meaningful and reflective learning. This is particularly beneficial in nursing education, as it enhances students’ clinical preparation. It also demands pedagogical renewal and thoughtful reflection on methodological changes from the teaching perspective. Objective: To describe the key aspects that nursing educators consider important for implementing ALMs in their teaching. Method: A qualitative study with a hermeneutic phenomenological design was conducted, involving 10 semi-structured interviews with nursing degree instructors at the University of Granada (Spain). Results: The main theme was “Adaptation to active learning methods in nursing,” with subthemes including training experiences, use of lectures, meanings and integration of ALM...

This article explores the convergence between the political agendas of international organizations and academic research on urban sustainability in Latin America. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, key documents are examined, including reports from UN-Habitat, the IDB, ECLAC, and ILPES, as well as representative academic articles, to identify common themes and assess the evolution of sustainability narratives. The structure of the study includes a theoretical introduction that describes the convergence between international policies and academic studies, highlighting concepts and practices in urban sustainability. The methodology details an analysis of reports and studies addressing regional sustainability agendas from the 1990s, exploring the adopted approaches: ecological, economical, social and poverty-focused, and political and urban management. The findings reveal a bidirectio...

Conventional chemical disinfectants, although effective, are toxic to people and the environment, and their continuous use can promote the emergence of microbial resistance. In this context, the formulation of disinfectants from plant extracts and essential oils, taking advantage of Amazonian biodiversity, emerges as a promising alternative. This study evaluated the ethanolic extract of Chamaesyce thymifolia (L.) Millsp. as a natural disinfectant against bacteria, comparing its efficacy with sodium hypochlorite on food-contact surfaces. Preliminary antibacterial activity was assessed by disk diffusion, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) against 8 bacterial strains at different concentrations. The disinfectant efficacy of the extract and sodium hypochlorite was evaluated using quantitative suspension tests (dilution-neutralization) and non...
