In the standard manuscript of the Laws —the Parisinus Graecus 1807 of the 9th Century AD— this dialogue is placed between the Minos and the Epinomis. While in the Minos the pupil refers to the diversity of rites and traditions that can be observed amongst different peoples, the Epinomis stresses the unity of the law. The regulation of symposia, the access to drugs, to intoxicating drinks and to medicine is a fundamental theme of the Laws. This is evident already from the composition of the dialogue, since this theme is discussed in its first books. The art of regulating communal life is shown as a technique that can be perfected through dialogue. This paper argues that, in order to understand the unified relations that are commonly predicated of koinōnia in the ethical, political, and cosmological spheres respectively, one must first appreciate certain prerequisite “principles” or “rules” that are necessary for koinōnia formation. One principle which has been for long the subject of intense discussion in Platonic scholarship is proportionality. However, rather than stopping short at the unproblematically straightforward point of connection between proportionality —in the broadest possible sense— and well-ordered wholes, I suggest that we can get a much richer account from Plato’s preoccupation with proportionality and koinōnia formation by exploring the different proportional models he puts to work in different contexts. Given the number of references to koin?nia in Plato’s dialogues, it is striking that the phrase “common good” (koinon agathon) is used only once – at Charmides 166d. Socrates asks his interlocutor Critias a question, “Do you not think it is for the common good, almost (schedon), of all men, that how all the beings (t?n ont?n) are should be discovered?” The question emerges after Critias has claimed that s?phrosyn? is self-knowledge, which he then specifies as a “knowledge of all other knowledges and of itself”. In this paper, I argue that it is no accident that Socrates mentions the “common good” at precisely this moment in his discussion with Critias. This article aims to point out that Plato’s criticism of Sophists and rhetoric is not a condemnation of them, but a distance from traditional rhetoric in order to introduce his proposal for a philosophical rhetoric. For this objective, the aim is to: 1) outline the definition of the concepts ‘rhetoric’ and ‘sophistic’, and characterize the principles of ‘sophistic rhetoric’; 2) To address Plato’s criticism of the sophists from the Gorgias, pointing out the arguments with which Plato criticizes the rhetoric and the Sophists; 3) To analyze the dialogical method of the Sophists (eristics) and how it opposes the philosopher’s method (dialectic); 4) Finally, to point out, starting from the Phaedrus, Plato's foundations for the consolidation of a ‘philosophical rhetoric’, that is, of a genuine philosophical dialogue that serves as an overcoming of traditional rhetoric.

Corrían las 6:30 p.m. del Lunes cuando llegaba a mi casa después de un agotador día en la universidad, eran esos días en donde estás ocupado cada segundo teniendo algo que hacer y le dedicas 15 minutos a tu almuerzo. Todo el camino de regreso estaba pensando en qué podría estar cocinando para la cena mi abuela y sobretodo en cómo iba a disfrutarla después de no haber podido almorzar tranquilo. Abro la puerta e instantáneamente siento el olor del ají amarillo sofriéndose, por ahí la cebolla y la rebeldía del ajo que no se quedaba atrás. Una vez dentro de la cocina abrazo a mi abuela con ternura y le pregunto qué estaba cocinando, su respuesta me llenó de emociones pero mucho más de preguntas, AJIACO.

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo el diseño y la simulación de un equipo de liofilización a escala piloto para deshidratar alimentos, mediante el análisis de las condiciones de operación, entre ellas la temperatura de congelación, que debe estar entre -17°C y -51°C, presión de vacío que llegue hasta aproximadamente 4 Pa, temperatura en la cámara de condensación del agua sublimada de -60°C y temperatura máxima de los platos calefactores alrededor de 54°C dependiendo del alimento. El diseño del equipo brindó una altura total de 1,80 m. con una cámara cilíndrica de diámetro de 1,30 m., la cual contiene 4 platos circulares de 73cm. de diámetro y 2 cm. de espesor por plato. Much recent scholarship on Plato’ Crito has revolved around the controversy about the relationship and possible compatibility between the arguments Socrates gives in his own person (SocratesS) and those he gives in the person of the Laws (SocratesL). By contrast, the relation between the arguments given by SocratesL and those given by Crito continues to be seen as uncontroversial: by the end of the dialogue, commentators agree, Crito has no choice but to concede to the force of SocratesL’s arguments. A study of the remainsof the other Socratic authors, and of Eschines in particular, makes clear that this dialogue form was essentially a genre of fictional "conversations with Socrates". freely invented even when the interlocutors were historical. Hence it is a mistake to regard Plato's earlier dialogues as a report of the philosophy of the historical Socrates. The present interpretation aims toreplace the notion of a "Socratic period" in Plato's philosophical development with a more unified View of Plato's work as a whole. Hence the notion of "prolepsis" is utilized to suggest that most of the so-called "Socratic-dialogues"are Written (and intended to be read) from the point of View of the socalled "middle dialogues".
