Evalúa mediante el uso de inmunohistoquímica (IHQ), la existencia de células δ (delta) que producen somatostatina y de células PP que producen polipéptido pancreático en el páncreas de alpacas de diferentes etapas de vida. Las muestras fueron colectadas en la estación IVITA Maranganí ubicada en el departamento de Cusco, provincia de Canchis a 4300 msnm, Perú. Se procesa las muestras en el Laboratorio de Anatomía Animal de la Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria UNMSM. Se utiliza como muestra 30 alpacas entre crías, jóvenes y adultas, con defectos congénitos o de madres beneficiadas en camal, recibiendo eutanasia según los parámetros de bienestar animal.
